Bio

Born into a loving Jewish family, Jeffrey David Goldford's parents dreamed for their son what other loving Jewish families dreamed: that one day he would grow up tobecome a respectable lawyer or doctor. Learning at an early age that blood made him faint and that he truly believed that OJ was in fact not guilty, his parents quickly let go of their high hopes. It was years later on a visit to Lawrence, KS watching Jeffrey perform in front of thousands of college students that they realized their sons true calling: Jeffrey David was born to rock and soul.

As a self taught guitarist and vocalist, Jeffrey graduated from the University of Kansas and moved to Austin, TX where his band, The Everyday People, quickly distinguished themselves in the live music capital of the world. Bouncing from venue to venue along the famed 6th Street, the band became a local success overnight. A few years later,Jeffrey followed his heart back to the Windy City to be closer to friends and family where he launched his solo career. “Hindsight,” his first solo EP, was released in early 2010.

All of Jeffrey's original songs are written from real life experiences. It is because of his personal connection to each single, that he continually awes audiences with his powerful lyrics and soulful performances. His musical style can best be described as the love child of Michael McDonald and John Mayer (while the end result is spectacular, Jeffrey is grateful to have not actually grown up in that house).

In summer of 2009, Jeffrey was convinced to try out for American Idol. Impressing the judges with his rawtalent, Jeffrey advanced past three rounds of competition to the top 50. With only 18 guys remaining for 12 spots, Jeffrey was eliminated from American Idol. To this day, Jeffrey refuses to drive Fords and had no choice but to remove his bedroom posters of Simon Cowell.

His audience always leaves each show motivated by his talent, impressed by his vocal ability and inspired by the love felt in the room. Audiences instantly become fans, and rightfully so. As an activesinger-songwriter, Jeffrey continues to perform across the country with plansfor his first full-length album to be released in early 2012.

Jeffrey can also be heard on Sirius/XM Satellite radio’s The Coffee House station for his version of the Kings of Leon’s hit single “Use Somebody.” With Jeffrey’s continual success and genuine love of music, look out for big things to come from this new talent.
